CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES

High elasticity:

The various types of mastics we use are characterised by very high elastomeric modifications of the bitumen used for the installation. This peculiarity guarantees very high levels of elasticity, so as to minimise the possibility of detachment of the materials from the walls of the treated cracks possibly due to any structural expansion of the road surface.

Deep penetration:

Thanks to the cutting-edge mechanical components featured on our mobile plant, we are able to feed the various mastics into the crack at a pressure of just under 1 "bar". This means that our product is not a simple casting procedure, but a real injection, such as to ensure deep penetration, which can reach even the lower layers of the road pavement structure.

Excellent adhesion to walls:

We are very careful to clean the cracks to be treated beforehand, using a jet of hot air, at a temperature of at least 120°C at 7 "bar", in order to prepare an environment as clean and dry as possible that will ensure maximum adhesion of the mastics used.

1. Why seal a surface

The first stage of deterioration of any type of road surface is noticeable from the formation on the surface of linear or branched cracks/fissures. These cracks, if not sealed, allow water to penetrate and cause a much faster decay of the entire floor. The main mechanical, destructive action occurs when it rains, due to the pressure wave effect generated by the tyres that push the water deep down with fast, violent and repetitive cycles. The winter frost and thaw cycles also aggravate the situation. For this reason, throughout northern Europe, for years now, the custom has been to carry out sealing work. Experience has shown that this remedy extends the life of road surfaces from 4 to 7 years.

2. Where to seal

It's clear that we can't consider all cracks/fissures as the same, which is why it's essential, as soon as they appear, to try to understand the reason why they were generated. Once we’ve understood that, whether road overload, structural failure, low thicknesses or incorrect design, we assess whether the cost/benefit ratio would suggest carrying out sealing work. In the vast majority of cases, it is extremely advantageous compared to the cost of the total remake of the bed of wear; when instead we have a situation of branched, "crocodile-skin"-like cracks, sealing work is not recommended.

3. How to seal the surface

The methodological approach that distinguishes beton asfalti allows us to propose the most suitable solution, defining the characteristics of the mastic, type of injection nozzle and mode of execution. We have, in fact, studied different ways of sealing surfaces for draining asphalts, structural subsidence of quaysides, tracks of racetracks and airports. To ensure absolute efficiency, continuity and logistic flexibility, we have created a mobile plant complete with all the equipment and systems needed to perform any type of sealing work, including the services and additional processing involved.

This allows us to move easily throughout Italy and northern Europe, even to perform night work.
